Serve Apra as a Member of the Board of Directors -- Nominations Are Now Open!

Date: , , - , ,
Location:

Apra is always looking to identify strong leaders who possess a variety of expertise. Succession planning is critical to the long-term health of the organization. Board service is a unique way for members to give back and to help shape the future of the association. Apra's members are its best advocate - and you have a chance to make a difference.

Nominations for the 2020 - 2021 Board of Directors are now open. Complete the nominations form to recommend a colleague or yourself for a Director position on the Board by March 2, 2020.

You may nominate as many people as you like. Please submit one nomination per candidate. We strongly encourage you to discuss your nomination with the candidate prior to submission to determine his or her interest and willingness to serve as a member of the Apra Board.

The terms for Director positions for the 2020 - 2021 term will begin September 1, 2020.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to lead others, a track record of committee or other volunteer service, a strong interest in the field of fundraising and philanthropy as a whole, ability to communicate effectively (in person and/or through writing), and reliability in following through on commitments and meeting deadlines.

Requirements
Nominees must meet the following requirements to be considered for a Director position:
  1. Be a voting Apra member in good standing
  2. Have been an Apra member in good standing for the 12-month period preceding the nomination
  3. Have worked at least three years in prospect development
A description of responsibilities and qualifications can be found on Apra's website. The FAQ document also provides information as one considers nomination.
In addition, candidates are required to submit a candidate statement, candidate agreement, resume, and references by March 5, 2020. Once a nomination is submitted, we will follow up with a confirmation and information on the submission materials.

The Nominations Committee will review all nominations received by the deadline to determine the slate of candidates that will be presented to the membership in April. Each position will be elected directly by the membership.

Please contact Nominations and Leadership Development Committee Chair, Mark Egge, or Executive Director Robin Rone with questions.
