The 3020/16 APRA Ethics Committee has created an APRA Ethics Tool Kit, as part of our Strategic Plan – Advocacy initiatives and to help answer some of the many questions from our members regarding best practices and helpful hints. APRA felt that this is a great opportunity to put together an all-encompassing kit which would share facts, websites and articles of interest, and answer pertinent questions from research/development professionals. This toolkit gives prospect researchers and development staff one stop shopping tools to create ethics documents for their organizations and take the lead in sharing best ethical practices with their associates.
In an effort to address some of the points outlined in the Strategic Plan:
- This document helps give researchers and development staff the tools to become recognized authorities in research and ethics for their organizations.
- This document is designed for use in any Advancement office with or without a Prospect Research/Management department and includes important information for all development/fundraising staff, including, researchers, fundraisers, advancement executives and development professionals alike.
The final draft was completed in April 2016 for presentation to the APRA International Committee and is a fluid document. We will continue to add new information as it becomes available.
