If you are interested in nominating yourself or a colleague for a 2022 - 2023 Board of Directors position, please complete the nominations form by Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Board service is a unique way for members to give back and to help shape the future of Apra. You may nominate as many people as you like. Please submit one nomination per candidate. We encourage you to discuss your nomination with the candidate prior to submission to determine their interest and willingness to serve as a member of the Apra Board of Directors.
Apra is a professional organization guided by ethics and strongly encourages diverse candidates to apply. We welcome all to review Apra’s Diversity and Inclusion Statement of Principles for more information.
The terms for Director positions for the 2022 - 2023 term will begin September 1, 2022.
Qualifications
Candidates should have leadership skills, a track record of committee or other volunteer services, an interest in the field of fundraising and philanthropy as a whole, the ability to communicate effectively (in person and/or through writing), and reliability in following through on commitments and meeting deadlines.
Additionally, Board members will be called upon to voice advocacy for the prospect development community and industry as a whole.
Requirements
Nominees must meet the following requirements to be considered for a Director position:
- Be a voting Apra member in good standing;
- Have been an Apra member in good standing for the 12-month period preceding the nomination;
- Have worked at least three years in prospect development.
A description of responsibilities and qualifications can be found on Apra's website. The FAQ page also provides information as one considers nomination.
In addition, candidates are required to submit a candidate statement, candidate agreement, resume, and references by Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Once a nomination is submitted, we will follow up with a confirmation and information on the submission materials.
The Nominations Committee will review all nominations received by the deadline to determine the slate of candidates that will be presented to the membership in April. Each position will be elected directly by the membership. For candidate interviews, candidates will have the ability to request accommodations as needed.
